Located in Môtiers, in the heart of the Val-de-Travers, the Maison de l’Absinthe is the leading centre dedicated to the history, culture and craftsmanship of absinthe.

Situated in the historic birthplace of the Green Fairy, it offers an immersive experience exploring the origins of absinthe, its international development, the prohibition era, the years of clandestine production and its modern revival. Exhibitions, historical artefacts, testimonies and interactive displays provide a comprehensive understanding of absinthe’s importance in the history of the Val-de-Travers.

As a gateway to the Pays de l’Absinthe, the Maison de l’Absinthe also introduces visitors to the producers, traditions and places that today make up the Route de l’Absinthe.
