History of Absinthe
Between France and Switzerland, a unique history shaped by time.
Absinthe, nicknamed the Green Fairy, has its origins in Couvet, in the Val-de-Travers.
Very popular in the 19th century, it left a deep mark on European culture before being banned in the early 20th century.
After nearly a century in the underground, it gradually made a comeback starting in the 2000s and has now regained its rightful place in its region of origin.
