Located in Couvet, in the heart of the Val-de-Travers, Distillerie Artemisia is one of the emblematic distilleries behind the revival of Swiss absinthe. Founded by former clandestine distiller Claude-Alain Bugnon, it played a key role in the return of legal absinthe production while remaining faithful to the historic traditions of the birthplace of the Green Fairy.

Produced from a recipe dating back to 1935, the distillery’s absinthes are handcrafted in Couvet using botanicals grown in the Val-de-Travers by local producers. Best known for its flagship absinthe “La Clandestine”, the distillery promotes a demanding vision of absinthe based on botanical quality, traditional methods and careful artisanal production from distillation to bottling.

Today, Claude-Alain and Karine Bugnon continue this work alongside their son Sébastien, ensuring the transmission and continuity of the family’s know-how.

Style: Traditional Val-de-Travers absinthe, clandestine heritage and artisanal excellence.
